Woodland FC complete move to Midwest Premier League

A new chapter has begun in world of Kansas soccer. Woodland Football Club was unveiled as the first club in the state of Kansas to join the Midwest Premier League. They join the league that continues to grow throughout the Midwest, spanning multiple bordering states, and continuing to grow the way that American soccer should—regionally.

“We are excited to announce that we have been accepted into the Midwest Premier League as of today. We are ecstatic to begin this new stage of our competitive drive as an organization, and embrace the new challenges, trials, and accomplishments that come with it. The Midwest Premier League represents a step up the US Soccer pyramid, and one in which we believe we are ready to test our mettle. We are grateful to Steve Beckman, Zach Fisher, and the entire MWPL board for welcoming us to their league, and for allowing us to become the first team in Kansas accepted into the MWPL,” said Ross Harris in a statement last Sunday.

“We’ve had the Kansas City area circled on our map for a long time and we’re thrilled to add Woodland FC for our 2026 season! Their track record speaks for itself and shows great promise for their future,” Steve Beckman, MWPL President.

We are grateful to the Select League for giving us an excellent competitive stage to prove ourselves over the course of two seasons, including winning the 2024 league title, and being runners-up in 2025 and in the Kansas State Cup. Without the Select League, this opportunity would never have come to pass, and we are grateful for where we were able to cut our teeth.

We want to thank the best fans, our fans, who have continued to show up match after match and out-perform every other fan base from our previous league. Week after week we were the best attended, best supported, and best loved team in the league, and it was because of all the love you showed us each and every match. We look forward to seeing you all at home matches next season in the MWPL. We’re gonna need it!

There will be new rivalries formed, but the same community and tight knit relationship between the opponents and fans will remain within the club’s new competition. Fans can expect to see even higher quality soccer, even higher ambition, and all of this inside a family-friendly environment.
