Woodland FC waved goodbye to Abdullah Noman, a standout player who had spent the last 6 months training with the Royals, and congratulated him on his move to German football.

One day, while training for their upcoming US Open Cup match, two players were watching their training from the sideline. Woodland FC owner, Ross Harris, asked them to join the training, and they both obliged. One of those players, Nico Bair, just finished his tryout process with the club, and successfully made the roster. The other, Abdullah Noman, trained with Woodland for almost 6 months, getting in shape, and pushing himself in training against one of the top teams in Kansas City. With the help of Woodland, and his own incredible talent and work ethic, he received an invitation to a trial with German 6th division side TSV Ottersberg.

"While selfishly we wanted Abdullah to play this MWPL season with us, we are so proud of him and what he has been able to accomplish with this next step in his career," said Harris.

But Abdullah Noman wasn't the only one who advanced his footballing career. Nico Bair used his training with Woodland FC in the offseason to earn a scholarship with MidAmerica Nazarene University, one of the top NAIA soccer schools in the country, and a perennial contender for the National Championship.

"We were so happy for Nico when we learned of his achievement, and happy to help him contribute to the program that Coach Wardlaw continues to improve," said Harris. "We know he'll be a huge asset for Woodland, and MidAmerica moving forward."

Stay tuned for more excellent news to come from Woodland as they prepare for the 2026 Midwest Premier League season.
